The Haunting of Radcliffe House

Last night, December 27th, Channel 5 previewed a feature length horror movie in the evening.  The chilling ghost story was the work of well- known British director Nick Welling. Starring Matthew Modine, from the Dark Knight Rises, and Olivia Williams, from the sixth sense.
The movie had a stereotypical storyline, with a fair few jumps and shocking moments, but nothing too exciting. Although, the story wasn't captivating, the camera work and editing were a huge inspiration for my group opening.
In the first few opening minutes, there were dozens of establishing shots and long shots, setting up the location of the film. Each shot was a long take and lacking in any colour. Along with non- diegetic music, these long takes created an eery atmosphere. The written credits appeared slowly on top of the grey- scale images, slowly fading in and out of the shot, white in colour. Exactly how I had imagined the written credits for our own opening. Hopefully, I can re- watch the first few minutes with my group and we can work from the movie opening.
